My name is Nikhil Nelson and I am an ex-student of International Business, entrepreneur, and passionate traveler born and raised in Washington, DC. I started my travels after high school by driving down the Pacific Coast of the US with my friend and have not been able to get enough since.

This site exists partly because I like photographing places, and partly because I got tired of the gap between the perception and reality of so many countries. The places carrying the heaviest headlines are often carrying the least context, not to mention the places that don’t make the headlines at all. I don't have a tidy fix for that. What I have is sixty something countries' worth of mornings, markets, and strangers who fed me, and a habit of writing down what I actually found instead of what I expected to.
